Abstract

RESUMEN: Este trabajo pretende destacar la importancia de la literatura como recurso pedagógico para mejorar la competencia lingüística de los estudiantes en el aula de lengua extranjera. Para ello, indagamos sobre el papel que desempeña la literatura dentro de los métodos de enseñanza-aprendizaje de una segunda lengua y en el Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para las Lenguas (MCERL); mostramos los beneficios que su uso aporta al alumnado y analizamos cómo está integrada dentro de la normativa actual de Educación Primaria en Cantabria. Finalmente, investigamos sobre la percepción y el uso que los docentes de esta etapa hacen de la literatura y desarrollamos una propuesta didáctica destinada a alumnos de Educación Primaria, basada en la utilización de la novela, el teatro y la poesía, con un doble objetivo: demostrar que la integración de la literatura es posible y beneficiosa y fomentar su uso entre los docentes.

ABSTRACT: This project aims to highlight the importance of literature as a pedagogical resource to improve the students’ linguistic competence in the foreign language classroom. In order to do this, we investigate the role of literature in language teaching methods and in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR); we show the benefits that its use provides students and analyze how it is integrated within the current curriculum of Primary Education in Cantabria. Finally, we investigate the perception that primary teachers have about literature and the way they use it and we develop a set of educational activities aimed at primary school students based on the use of the novel, theatre and poetry, with a dual purpose: to show that the integration of literature is possible and beneficial and to encourage their use among teachers.
