Los estereotipos culturales como obstáculo para la convivencia en la escuela inclusiva / The cultural stereotypes as an obstacle for the coexistence in the inclusive school

Abstract

Abstract: In this study, we think about reflecting on some problems that are still present in the educational field. These are due to the existence of cultural differences and stereotypes on immigrant students, whose number has notably increased in the current Spanish society. Under our point of view, the measures designed to improve the coexistence must not only be more efficient but also they must go beyond the educational field and reach the mass media, the main source of information creating and keeping stereotypes. We consider that the most efficient measure will be to increase the contacts between the native population and immigrants, since the knowledge provides understanding and acceptance, so necessary in the inclusive school and in the society in general.
