Abstract

In the history of criminality, banditry has emerged as a substantial issue to investigate the marginalization and the alterations caused by the introduction of capitalism. In this article are reviewed the works that have written the history of the Spanish banditries ―those that occurred in Later Modern Times especially―, with two purposes: to explain changes in interpretive approaches on these social crimes; and to provide a coherent and peninsular scaled prospect from investigations, mostly regional, that have been made so far.
