Abstract

Presentation of the Symposium on “Ovejas negras” around the latest book by Roberto Di Stefano Ovejas negras. Historia de los anticlericales argentinos, which raises a set of valuable questions that invite to travel little known paths of religious history of both Argentina and other latitudes. Also, the book gathers specific attributes that encourage discussion and debate. First, its pioneering character: it is the first systematic study of anticlericalism for such a long period, not only in our country but throughout the Ibero-American space. Secondly, its different analysis records, which make the book a valuable resource for those researchers willing to enter some of the tributaries, streams and channels that converge in the largely unexplored river of “anticlericalism”.
