Abstract

This study is a comparison between the Chronicle of 1344 (ms. M), the Estoria de España and the Livro de Linhagens of Pedro de Barcelos, in what refers to the Leyenda de los Infantes de Lara. This legend was, as it is known, prosed for the first time in the Estoria de España from a poem now lost. But the legend was modified over centuries in a second poem that was caught in the Chronicle of 1344. This study testifies convergences and divergences of these three sources, named supra, taking into account Menendez Pidal’s research.; Este estudio quiere adentrarse en una comparativa entre la Crónica de 1344 (ms.
