La crítica del realismo especulativo a la epistemología kantiana

Abstract

En este artículo se expondrán la crítica fundamental de Quentin Meillasoux hacia la epistemología kantiana como origen de la deriva correlacionista, que habría truncado la posibilidad de encuentro con las cosas en sí y habría encerrado el conocimiento en una esfera subjetivista. Después de exponer brevemente los motivos de esta crítica, así como las consecuencias que le achaca y las respuestas que ha recibido, se expondrá una réplica a Meillasoux que reivindique cómo en el programa crítico caben tanto la objetividad como la influencia en nuestra cognición de un mundo independiente de esta. Para ello se argumentará que el post-kantismo sellarsiano constituye un ámbito adecuado en el que buscar los mimbres de esta respuesta, pues conserva el papel epistémico de las estructuras conceptuales al mismo tiempo que contempla su modificación a partir de las informaciones y avances científicos. La respuesta de James O’Shea, una de las más completas y rigurosas provenientes de la estela sellarsiana, se complementa con observaciones sobre el papel epistémico de las sensaciones para armar una réplica a la crítica del realismo especulativo. Se concluye que, pese a las modificaciones epistémicas propuestas, la respuesta es fiel al programa crítico kantiano y su atención a las contribuciones científicas.
