Paisajes sagrados y productivos

Abstract

En los últimos años, el conocimiento sobre la fase de conquista romana en el NE de la península Ibérica ha experimentado avances notables, gracias, por un lado, a las grandes obras de infraestructura y, por otro, al creciente interés por la arqueología del paisaje. Sin embargo, la interpretación de los asentamientos rurales sigue dividida: algunos defienden la pervivencia de estructuras territoriales indígenas, mientras que otros sostienen que se trata de una densa red de villae de nueva implantación. Con el propósito de superar esta disyuntiva, el presente trabajo –sin pretensiones de exhaustividad– explora la interacción entre procesos económicos y expresiones culturales en el medio rural del NE peninsular durante los últimos decenios del s. II y los primeros del s. I a.C., delineando las dinámicas sociales, económicas y culturales que modelaron el paisaje rural en este período inicial de presencia romana.
