Sintomatologia Psicopatológica, Perdão-Traço e Alta Sensibilidade de Processamento Sensorial

Abstract

The aim of the research is explore the relationship between psychopathological symptomatology, high sensitivity of sensory processing and forgivingness-trait according to gender and age, and understand which have more weight in the explanation of forgiveness. The published literature suggests an association between high sensitivity and psychopathological symptoms, and in forgiveness with mental health indicators. A total of 1048 subjects were collected through online collection and used a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Brief Symptom Inventory, the Highly Sensitive Person Scale and the Trait-Forgivingness Scale. The results were consistent with previous studies, showing that the trait-forgivingness has a negative correlation with all variables. The high sensitivity is most correlated with anxiety and obsessions-compulsions. Regarding gender, we found significant differences in the high sensitivity, anxiety, obsessions-compulsions and interpersonal sensitivity. When dividing the sample according to age, there are significant differences across all scales except in the high sensitivity and interpersonal sensitivity. It is concluded that hostility, paranoid ideation and interpersonal sensitivity are the variables with more weigh on the explanation of forgiveness.
