Abstract

The initiation and acquisition of reading is a complex process. For the teaching / learning to read effectively, it is important to know the various models / methods of initiation into reading that underlie them, and teaching methodologies inherent in each. In children with special educational needs and / or learning difficulties, the acquisition of competence reader is more time consuming and difficult. This study aimed to describe how the teaching of reading processes by different methods and investigate in particular the advantages in applying the method of 28 words, considered a mixed method, in children who have acquired the reading mechanism, the synthetic method - analytical (and the older method is still the most worked in our schools).
