Abstract

O construto autoconceito é a perceção que um indivíduo cria acerca de si próprio. Este construto tem influência na vivencia de cada criança e adolescente, afetando de forma positiva ou negativa, os vários contextos do quotidiano. Assim sendo, esta dissertação passa por abordar a explicação do autoconceito, mostrar a sua importância na vida de crianças/adolescentes no contexto escolar e desportivo, como também uma breve explicação do instrumento de avaliação utilizado. Esta dissertação faz uso do SPSS para a análise dados, onde se percebeu então, ao longo da dissertação, o tipo de influência que pode ter o rendimento escolar e desportivo nos diversos fatores constituintes do autoconceito das crianças e adolescentes, como a popularidade, o aspeto comportamental, a ansiedade, a satisfação e felicidade, o estatuto intelectual e a aparência física. Explorar as relações entre a perceção do rendimento escolar, perceção do rendimento desportivo, fatores do autoconceito e autoconceito total e a influencia da idade no autoconceito das crianças/adolescentes. Por fim, aborda-se a importância da sala de aula, a criação de um ambiente confortável e seguro, para que a criança se sinta capaz de expor as suas crenças e, por sua vez, a progredirem na aprendizagem, tal como o ambiente de uma equipa desportiva, onde os atletas preferem estar inseridos numa equipa onde todos se sintam integrados e estão mais satisfeitos com o ambiente positivo e o apoio dado pela equipa, do que o próprio rendimento individual. Conclui-se também que adolescentes que se consideram como excelentes no rendimento escolar e desportivo, têm valores mais elevados a nível da aparência física.

The self-concept construct is the perception that an individual creates about himself. This construct has an influence on the lives of each child and adolescent, positively or negatively affecting the various everyday contexts. Therefore, this dissertation addresses the explanation of self-concept, showing its importance in the lives of children/adolescents in the school and sports context, as well as a brief explanation of the assessment instrument used. This dissertation uses SPSS for data analysis, where it was perceived, throughout the dissertation, the type of influence that school and sports performance can have on the various factors that constitute the self-concept of children and adolescents, such as popularity, appearance behavioral, anxiety, satisfaction and happiness, intellectual status and physical appearance. Explore the relationships between the perception of school performance, perception of sports performance, self-concept factors and total self-concept. Finally, the importance of the classroom, the creation of a comfortable and safe environment, so that the child feels able to expose their beliefs and, in turn, to progress in learning, such as the environment of a sports team, where athletes prefer to be part of a team where everyone feels integrated and are more satisfied with the positive environment and the support given by the team, than their own individual performance. It is also concluded that adolescents who consider themselves excellent in academic and sports performance have higher values in terms of physical appearance.
