Abstract

Na sociedade atual, marcada pela mobilidade, é cada vez mais importante compreender o “outro” nas suas diferenças culturais. A arte capta estas diferenças apreendendo os seus motivos, como se torna visível em muitas ficções literárias. Aos estudos imagológicos cabe então um papel importante no discernimento do modo como diferenças e conflitos são representados, permitindo inferir temas e procedimentos recorrentes. Na configuração artística dos mundos ficcionais, o jogo do espaço torna-se duplamente significativo, replicando a densidade sígnica que o espaço adquire no mundo atual, como salientaram Foucault e Deleuze, já que concede espaciosidade, sobretudo face à “barbárie” do tempo que tudo arrasta, como apontou Jean-Luc Nancy. Para a interpretação das ficções literárias, os estudos imagológicos podem beneficiar também dos contributos carreados pela perspetivação transnacional, como salientam, entre outros, Paul Jay. À luz das ideias referidas, este estudo tem como objetivo identificar as figurações do “outro” e do seu espaço nas obras Aqui nos encontramos de John Berger, Requiem de Antonio Tabucchi e Mentiras & Diamantes de J. Rentes de Carvalho, refletindo sobre os processos representacionais da complexidade intercultural nelas patenteada.978-989-26-1941-5
