Problemas de comportamento no período pré-escolar: as birras

Abstract

Tantrums are increasingly an issue that worries most families. Arise in the early years of life and are a consequence of the lack of self-regulation and tolerance to frustration that the child has. So that will not become serious behavior problems, parents have to adopt appropriate parental strategy promoting adequate behaviour. The present study aims to meet the frequency the tantrums, the manifestations of children during a tantrum, parental strategies used against the tantrums and the reasons why children do tantrums. Another objective is to know the relationship of these objectives with age and the child's gender and family type. The sample comprised 90 children aged 3 to 5 years, with each age group comprises 30 children. The Questionnaire of Tantra was used to collect the information required for the study, which was administered to parents of children. It was concluded that there is an association between the manifestations of anger and punitive strategies. Significant differences were found between the gender of the child and the manifestations of isolation, not punitive strategies and the reasons for routines; between the child's age and distress manifestations, specifically between 3 and 5 years, and emotional reasons.
