Abstract

O presente estudo exploratório pretende analisar o papel da confiança interpessoal, tanto relativamente ao melhor amigo como no relacionamento com o par amoroso, assim como a sua relação com o bemestar subjetivo, tendo em conta a satisfação com a vida, a afetividade positiva e afetividade negativa, e ainda variáveis sociobiográficas. Desta forma, foram utlizados os seguintes instrumentos para a recolha de dados: um Questionário Sociobiográfico; duas versões da adaptação portuguesa da Escala de Confiança Interpessoal (Rotenberg´s Specific Trust Scale-Adults), uma com o objetivo de avaliar a confiança no par amoroso e outra a confiança no melhor amigo; a Escala de Satisfação com a vida – SWLS; e a Escala de Afetividade Positiva e Negativa – PANAS. No sentido de contribuir para a pesquisa relativa à sua adaptação, foi realizado o estudo das qualidades psicométricas da adaptação portuguesa da Escala de Confiança Interpessoal. Foi utilizada uma amostra composta por 303 sujeitos (209 mulheres) com idades compreendidas entre os 18 e 65 anos. As análises estatísticas das escalas do bem-estar subjetivo e da confiança interpessoal no melhor amigo foram realizadas considerando a totalidade dos sujeitos da amostra. Relativamente à análise da Escala de Confiança Interpessoal no par amoroso apenas foram considerados os 182 sujeitos que relataram ter uma relação amorosa. Relativamente aos resultados, foram obtidas associações significativas entre a confiança interpessoal e o bem-estar subjetivo. Foi possível observar o papel preditor significativo da confiança interpessoal relativamente ao bem-estar subjetivo. Foram encontradas diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre os géneros na Escala de Confiança Interpessoal no melhor amigo e nos seus respetivos fatores. Ainda, foram igualmente observadas diferenças entre os grupos de idade na escala SWLS e na Escala de Confiança Interpessoal no par amoroso. Finalmente, foi possível observar o papel preditor significativo do índice de problemas de vida diversos em relação à escala de confiança no par amoroso e ao bemestar subjetivo.

This exploratory study aims to analyze interpersonal trust, in relashionships with a best friend and with a romantic partner, na its association with the subjective well-being, taking into account the satisfaction with life, positive and negative affect, and social-biographical variables. For this studyi the following instruments were used for data collection: a social-biographic questionnaire; two versions of the portuguese adaptation of the Interpersonal Trust Scale (Rotenberg's Specific Trust Scale-Adults), one in order to assess the trust in a loving couple and other to assess trust in a best friend; the Satisfaction with Life Scale - SWLS; and the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule - PANAS. Aiming to contribute to the research in terms of its adaptation, it was performed the study of the psychometric properties of the Portuguese adaptation of the Interpersonal Trust Scale. A sample of 303 subjects (209 women) was used, with ages between 18 and 65 years old. Statistical analyzes of the scales of subjective wellbeing and interpersonal trust in best friend were performed considering all the subjects of the sample. For the analysis of Interpersonal Trust Scale in the loving pair there were only considered the 182 subjects who refered a loving relationship. As to the results, significant associations were found between the interpersonal trust and the subjective well-being. It was observed a significant predictor role of interpersonal trust in subjective well-being. Statistically significant differences were found between genders in Interpersonal Trust Scale in the best friend and their respective factors. Furthermore, differences were also observed between the age groups in SWLS and in Interpersonal Trust Scale in the loving couple. Finally, we observed a significant predictor role of the diverse life problems index on trust in the loving pair and subjective well-being.
