Alimentos Vivos e Naturezas-Mortas nas Coleções Públicas Portuenses Proposta de Roteiro Turístico-Cultural

Abstract

LIVING FOOD AND STILL LIFE IN PORTUENSE PUBLIC COLLECTIONS PROPOSAL FOR A TOURIST-CULTURAL ITINERARY This master's project proposes the creation of a cultural tourist itinerary based on still lifes with foods present in the collections of public museums in Porto, a fast-growing tourist destination. The main objective is to promote the cultural and tourist appreciation of this artistic and food heritage, highlighting the importance of still lifes not only as works of art, but also as historical and cultural testimonies that reflect the food practices and customs of different eras, in past and present.Based on the data collected and the interviews carried out, a script was developed which, based on the analyzed collections, focuses on a contemporary dialogue with tradition, proposing its interconnection with cultural and educational activities that contribute to the recognition of gastronomy and artistic culture of the City at the same time. This project aims, therefore, to contribute to the valorization of artistic and food heritage through Porto's public collections, highlighting the relevance of still lifes as resources to be valued in the conservation of the community's memory and cultural identity and in the promotion of cultural and gastronomic tourism, with a view to a richer and more multifaceted tourist experience. The methodology adopted includes a detailed bibliographic review and the analysis of documentary data from the collections of Porto's museums, exhibition catalogs, and academic publications. Structured interviews were carried out with agents of Porto's museological and tourist activities to obtain insights into the relevance of still lifes in their collections and exhibition strategies, as well as the potential for integrating these works into a tourist-cultural itinerary.
