Abstract

[ES]: El presente trabajo muestra un sistema de evaluación sistemática de suelos como base para una programación agrícola del uso y manejo de este recurso en regiones mediterráneas. Se basa en un análisis de las variables exclusivamente edáficas que inciden más directamente sobre el desarrollo productivo de diferentes usos agrícolas seleccionados. Para su elaboración se ha seguido el esquema general propuesto por el Expert Consultation Land for Evaluation for Rural Purposes, Wageningen, 1972, adaptado a las condiciones y necesidades de una zona de referencia. Siguiendo una metodología cualitativa, el sistema desarrollado pretende la medida de la capacidad productiva del suelo en base a su aptitud relativa para los cultivos seleccionados. Finalmente, por medio de matrices de gradación se establecen cinco clases de aptitud.

[EN]: This paper sets out a soil evaluation system for agricultural planning purposes. The system is only based on an analysis of soil characteristics, which falls into directly on the productive growth of different agricultural uses. In its development, the general scheme from the Expert Consultation Land Evaluation for Rural Purposes (Wageningen, 1972), was followed, adapted to the conditions and needs of a benchmark zone. Following a qualitative methodology, this system looks for the soil productivity evaluation based on their relative aptitude for major crops. Finally, five classes of relative aptitude were set up, making use of the conversion tables.
