Abstract

La condición de nacional de un Estado ha dejado ser el requisito indispensable para el disfrute de los derechos asociados a la ciudadanía. La intensa transformación que las instituciones estatales ha experimentado con el avance imparable de los procesos de globalización, así como el notable progreso de la cultura de los derechos humanos a nivel nacional e internacional, se encuentran entre los factores determinantes de importantes cambios normativos que afectan a la vida cotidiana de los inmigrantes. Éstos desarrollan con frecuencia diferentes formas de vinculación con el Estado receptor que no necesariamente pasan por la adquisición de la ciudadanía.
