Abstract

[EN] Field pea is a traditional crop in the Northwest of Iberian Peninsula. Pea landraces well adapted to the environment conditions Galician farmers usually cultivate, but the yield and the quality of the grains obtained are variable. The objetive of this work is the selection of lines adapted to rustic conditions, that preserve good agronomic characteristics. To achieve it, plants from fifteen landraces were grown in adverse (edafic and climatic) conditions, and selected in the basis of yield, quality of grain, and morphological characteres. The evaluation of each plant was done in 15 individuals of its offspring. It has been obtained some lines with important agronomic characteres. The line richest in protein (26.56%) belongs to the landrace PSM-0010, and four lines from PSM-0040 have also high amounts of protein. Four lines that belong to PSM-0062 have the highest number of pods per plant; another one presents the minor size (18 cm). This landrace has also some lines with great yield values and less leaf area index.
