A study is made of the chemical characteristics of the banana soils in Tenerife. Determinations of P2O5, K2O, pH, CaCO3, organic matter, cation exchange capacity, exchangeable cations, and the saturated soil paste of these soils are included.
A long term experiment to study the soils status of P2O5 and K2O confirms the high reserves of these nutrients in the soil.
