[EN] The hay production of seven seeding mixtures of grasses and legumes grown on the irrigated land of the Ebro valley (Spain). is being compared with this of the alfalfa. The mixture formed by orchard-grass (Dactylis glomeraía), perennial rye-grass (Lolium perenne). Ladino olover iTrifolium repetís, Ladino), and red (TrifoUum pratense), has proved to be the most productive and better adapted to the local conditions of soil and climate. This mixture is recommended for the long-term pastures, and the one formed by orchardgrass and red clover for the short-rerm ones. On introducing both on the irrigated land. the forage resources of the región will be completed.
