Abstract

The project funded by the Foundation Science and Technology (FCT), started in 2007, entitled "Literacy Informational within the European Higher Education: Study of Competencies Information in Portugal (eLit.pt)" and formally ended on April 30, 2010, which means it is time for presentation and discussion of findings and proposals that help to understand and intervene in central problem of the search - the information literacy. However, here, eLit.pt serves mainly as a pretext for discussion around the concept of model, its relationship with theorizing and their influence in prototyping. Going from the Science in general up to the Information and Communication Sciences is a complicated but interesting journey to make to realize that the proper role of model and modeling in the dynamics of scientific research.
