Análisis del registro arqueofaunístico del sitio Abrigo Pozo Cavado, Puna de Salta, Argentina, durante el Holoceno medio y comienzos del Holoceno tardío

Abstract

Se presenta nueva información arqueofaunística relevante para el estudio de la variabilidad y los patrones de cambio durante el Holoceno medio y comienzos del Holoceno tardío en la Puna de Salta. El registro analizado proviene del sitio Abrigo Pozo Cavado, localizado en el borde del salar de Pocitos, con fechas entre ca. 7200 y 2900 AP. Los análisis se centraron en los cambios relacionados con la explotación alimenticia humana de camélidos, especialmente a partir de procesos de intensificación y domesticación. Los resultados obtenidos indicaron variaciones y patrones de cambio como así también continuidades en el aprovechamiento de estos recursos. Asimismo, la comparación con evidencia de otros sitios de la Puna Argentina permitió realizar un aporte a la discusión de estos procesos en escala macrorregional.
