Artefactos culturais na aprendizagem escolar da Matemática

Abstract

Neste artigo apresentam-se alguns resultados de uma investigação desenvolvida com o objectivo de estudar e compreender a forma como o saber matemático dos alunos se desenvolve e estrutura num contexto de aula de Matemática. Na referida investigação assumiu-se um ponto de vista cultural para olhar a aprendizagem matemática dos alunos, pelo que apresenta contornos de alguma forma próximos de um estudo etnográfico. O presente artigo – cujo foco principal é a compreensão do processo de apropriação (dos alunos) dos artefactos matemáticos no contexto escolar – está estruturado em três partes. Nelas se descreve e discute: (i) a opção conceptual que serviu de base ao estudo; (ii) a opção metodológica adoptada; (iii) os resultados e conclusões referentes à questão em discussão no artigo.
