Quadrante – Revista de Investigação em Educação Matemática is a research journal on mathematics education published by the Portuguese Association of Mathematics Teachers (APM). The journal aims at constituting a forum for exchanging ideas and experiences in the field of mathematics education research, by publishing research reports focused on issues related to the teaching and learning of mathematics, and on questions pertaining to mathematics teacher education and development, at all levels of education. The journal publishes articles reporting empirical studies or theoretical essays, provided that they constitute original contributions to the field of mathematics education. Proposals for articles are submitted either to regular or thematic issues, the latter in charge of guest editors. Quadrante is directed towards an international audience of academics, researchers, decision makers, teacher educators, teachers, and students in the field of mathematics education. The journal opens up to a wide scientific community, as reflected by the constitution of it's editorial and advisory councils and by the publication of articles in Portuguese, Spanish, French, and English.
