An edited collection of twelve original chapters of contemporary research into higher education and social inequality. The book is divided into three distinct sections exploring how social inequality manifests itself in three stages of the student life cycle: 'Getting in: Higher education access and participation'; 'Getting on: Classed experiences of higher education'; 'Getting out: Social class and graduate destinations'. The contributing authors are a mixture of early career researchers, established major figures in the field of the sociology of higher education and those occupying a position in between.
