Rockfor.NET : le premier outil de diagnostic rapide de l'aléa chute de pierres à l'aval d'une forêt de protection

Abstract

Il n'y a actuellement pas de règles claires et précises pour évaluer la fonction de protection des forêts vis-à-vis des chutes de pierres, en tenant compte des paramètres dendrométriques, des caractéristiques topographiques du site, ainsi que de la taille et de l'énergie maximale des projectiles rocheux. Afin de fournir un outil qui réponde à ces exigences et qui permette de donner, à l'échelle d'un versant, une évaluation quantitative de la capacité de protection d'une forêt, nous avons développé l'utilitaire Rockfor.NET (en accès libre sur le site internet www.rockfor.net). Cet article présente les principes sous-jacents de cet utilitaire, les méthodes de calcul ainsi que les études de cas utilisées pour sa validation.
