The following article by Unamuno appeared in the important Modernist review Helios (Year I, vol. II, No. VIII (August) 1903, pp. 46–50). Sr. Manuel Garcia Blanco has recently drawn attention to it in his excellent and well-documented study of Machado's correspondence with Unamuno, but it has not been collected in any volume since its first publication. Because of its importance as regards the relationship between the two writers, I here reproduce the article in full.
