Korištenje videolekcija u poučavanju i učenju biologije

Abstract

The epidemiological situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic, both worldwide and in Croatia, has led to certain changes in the organization and implementation of the teaching process. Aside from classical teaching at school, students achieve educational outcomes through a mixed form of teaching which, in addition to teaching at school, also includes distance learning or a model that involves only distance learning. Due to changes in the implementation of the teaching process, organized by the Ministry of Science and Education and the Agency for Education, video lectures were prepared, as part of support for teachers, but also students and their parents, in conducting distance learning in the school year 2020/2021. As video lectures are in a way a novelty for both teachers and students, the goal was to analyze the success of achieving educational outcomes by working with students through video lectures. It was found that students can generally successfully achieve the educational outcomes prescribed by the Framework Annual Implementation Curriculum, with active involvement in the teaching process, but that there are also difficulties in identifying key terms for building fundamental concepts and depicting their interrelations. Considering the reactions of students to certain activities, it was concluded that the implementation of practical work, which students could not perform independently at home, would certainly contribute to the more successful realization of educational outcomes.
