Online Music Theory in Music Theory Online

Abstract

This essay surveys existing and potential approaches to publishing music theory and analysis in an online format. A brief consideration of the advantages and disadvantages of electronic journals is followed by an exploration of the different types of multimedia examples as used in the open-access journal Music Theory Online. Dieser Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über bestehende und mögliche Herangehensweisen, musiktheoretische und analytische Beiträge in einem online-Format zu publizieren. Einer kurzen Betrachtung der Vor- und Nachteile elektronischer Zeitschriften folgt eine Darstellung der unterschiedlichen Typen von Multimedia-Beispielen, die in der Open-Access-Zeitschrift Music Theory Online genutzt werden.
