Abstract

Prejudice towards undocumented immigrants has been investigated more frequently in different social settings without direct contact with it. This research study compares the scores obtained by two groups of social education students from the University of Huelva (province of Andalusia and currently without migratory pressure) and from the University of Granada at its campus in the Autonomous City of Melilla (a multicultural city with high migratory pressure). Method: A quantitative descriptive study involving a total of 157 students aged between 19 and 25 years (M = 22.02). Results: The statistical analysis showed significant differences in both analysed samples with respect to the total scores obtained. Conclusions: from a statistical perspective, we cannot affirm that there is clear and direct prejudice in either of the two samples analysed. However, there are significant differences between the two groups, although we did not find in this investigation which variable may be affecting these results.
