Abstract

This master’s thesis discusses the implementation of inclusion in the field of general adult education with regard to people with mental disabilities. Within the framework of the qualitative research four problem-centred interviews with organizers (principal, educational management, agenda management, etc.) of adult education have been carried out to collect information about their subjective experiences. In this process the following problems surfaced: the funding, the accessibility of the buildings, finding adequate course instructors as well as the handling of the category disability. In addition within the framework of the study the main issues of developing inclusive adult education have been elaborated. They include the development of an inclusive society, a positive approach of the people involved, the adaptation of the general conditions, a different methodical and didactic approach, the composition of the groups as well as the qualification and professionalization of the course instructors.
