Abstract

Abstract We present a technique for the derivation of the density and its moments in the case of the discrete random variable that expresses the “waiting time” for an n-tuplet (especially in HH, HT, HHH) when a fair coin is flipped. In addition, we present some paradoxical situations that arise from them. These results are very useful in the field of mathematical games, in the history of probability, and in teaching.
