Six species of Apostolepis are known to inhabit Bolivia. The holotypes of A. dorbignyi and A. nigroterminata are redescribed. Variation in these species and A. tenuis and A. vittata is documented. Two new species are described: A. multicincta, from 1290 m in the Bolivian Andes, is the first species of the genus ever found above 500 m; A. phiUipsi is a new species from northeastern Santa Cruz department. A key to the Bolivian species and six species from adjacent countries is provided.
