Compared with researches on language anxiety focused on the learning of western languages, the study of learning anxiety of the Chinese language as a second language or foreign language (CSL/CFL) started late. The number of said researches is much few. However, in recent years, there have been still some researchers studying the effect of the language anxiety on Chinese language learning as a second language or foreign language (CSL/CFL) and the teaching methods of how to ease the Chinese learning anxiety effective to obtain the goal of high acquisition of Chinese language learning through the implementation of language teaching methods. This article systematically reviews previous researches on the development of learning anxiety scales of Chinese as Foreign Language or Second Language (CFL/CSL) in the language classroom, the causes of anxiety on Chinese language learning effectively, and the strategies of getting high achievement by increasing Chinese learning anxiety, exploring its research characteristics and existing problems. This research attempts to provide a reference for future relative investigations and help the teachers and relevant educational staff discover, understand, analyze the issues, and take effective strategies to improve the Chinese language learners’ learning outcomes. Based on this research, the authors also point out what should be researched further to advance the field.
