This paper is an overview of some important questions on African Literature. In fact, over the past few decades, a lot of questions have been raised on African Literature. Among those questions is posed the question of the existence or absence of an African Literature proper. Two schools of thought have led the debates on this matter. The first school thought that claims the existence of an African Literature written on Africa and priortitizes the use of African languages to write African Literature, while the second school of thought tends to give a wide dimension of an African literature written in any language possible. It could be the language of the colonizer or any other African language that can represents the Identity of Africans as a whole. I therefore dedicate this paper as an attempt to help grasp these questions around the African Literature.
