As práticas de gestão e a qualidade do solo em pomares de pereira 'Rocha'

Abstract

Diferentes sistemas de gestão do solo podem induzir alterações ao funcionamento dos ecossistemas. No contexto da crescente preocupação com sustentabilidade e qualidade ambiental é crucial avaliar possíveis modificações no sistema solo, como recurso determinante para a fertilidade e produtividade. Determinaram-se indicadores de qualidade física, química e biológica em quatro pomares de pereira ‘Rocha’ da região Oeste de Portugal, em que as entrelinhas são mantidas: com coberto vegetal natural permanente (NT), por mobilização com incorporação de estrume (CT+M), por mobilização convencional a 15 cm (CT1) e por mobilização convencional até 40 cm de profundidade (CT2). Todas as propriedades relacionadas com a dinâmica da matéria orgânica do solo expressaram alterações decorrentes de mudanças na gestão, apresentando-se a incorporação de estrume e o enrelvamento permanente como os sistemas mais favoráveis à acumulação de matéria orgânica e, consequentemente, à actividade microbiológica.
