This work is devoted to identifying common and distinctive features of the symbolism of zoonyms in the Russian and Chinese linguistic picture of the world. The tasks that were solved during the study include an analysis of the semantics of the zoonym, a description of the functioning of zoonyms in the Russian and Chinese languages, a comparative analysis of the symbolism of Russian and Chinese zoonyms, and the development of exercises aimed at working with zoonyms in Russian as a foreign language lessons.
