«Como decíamos ayer…». España en los discursos inaugurales de la Universidad de Salamanca durante la posguerra (1939-1945)

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza el papel de la Universidad de Salamanca en la construcción del nacionalismo español que cristaliza tras la Guerra Civil utilizando como fuente fundamental los discursos pronunciados en la inauguración de sus cursos académicos. Tras estudiar el contexto histórico del estudio salmantino, se describen los cambios y continuidades que afectaron al ceremonial de los actos de apertura de curso durante ese periodo y se realiza una breve semblanza de los diferentes oradores. La última parte está dedicada al análisis pormenorizado de cada una de estas lecciones. Un análisis que nos permite concluir que ni siquiera en aquel tiempo de férreo control ideológico la Universidad fue una institución uniforme, siendo los discursos una vía para plantear posiciones moderadamente críticas en relación con determinados aspectos de la realidad nacional. Por otra parte, la visión predominante del pasado de España participa de los rasgos de una típica concepción historiográfica conservadora, pero no falangista.
