Opracowanie koncentruje się wokół problematyki kompetencji temporalnych młodzieży o zróżnicowanym poziomie nieśmiałości i towarzyskości. Podjęto w niej próbę odpowiedzi na pytania o to: Jakie różnice w zakresie kompetencji temporalnych występują u młodzieży o różnym układzie cech w wymiarach nieśmiałość – towarzyskość? Czy występują i jaki mają charakter ewentualne związki pomiędzy zmienną kompetencji temporalnych a zmiennymi nieśmiałości i towarzyskości? W tym celu przeprowadzono badania na grupie 286 osób w wieku 15-18 lat. Zastosowano Kwestionariusz Nieśmiałości Croziera, Skalę Towarzyskości autorstwa Eisenberg, Fabesa i Murphy oraz Kwestionariusz Kompetencji Temporalnych Uchnasta i Tucholskiej. Analiza uzyskanych wyników pozwoliła stwierdzić, iż (nie)śmiałość i (nie)towarzyskość, choć jako zmienne powiązane ze sobą korelacyjnie, dotyczą odmiennych dyspozycji osobistych. Młodzież należąca do różnych typów w wymiarach nieśmiałość – towarzyskość wykazuje istotne różnice w zakresie przeżywania czasu psychologicznego. Różni je sposób ustosunkowania do własnej przeszłości, teraźniejszości i przyszłości oraz ogólny poziom kompetencji temporalnych. Uzyskane wyniki badań dają podstawę ku temu, by ukierunkowywać pracę terapeutyczną z osobami nieśmiałymi na kwestie związane z akceptacją własnych przeszłych doświadczeń i sytuacji obecnej oraz otwartości na to, co może przynieść przyszłość.

The research revolves around the temporal competences in adolescents characterized by differential rates of shyness and sociability. The authors; attempt was to answer the questions: What kind of differences are present between people characterized by different configuration of traits on the shyness-sociability dimensions? Are there present any relationships between the dimensions of temporal competences, shyness and sociability, and what is their nature? In order to answer those questions was conducted a research which 286 respondents aged 15-18m took part in. The Shyness Questionnaire by Crozier, The Sociability Scale by Eisenberg, Fabes and Muprhy, and The Temporal Competences Questionnaire by Uchnast and Tucholska were applied. The results shows that, although correlated, the shyness/forwardness and sociability/unsociability configurations of traits are related to different personal dispositions. Youth pertaining different types according to shyness-sociability dimension differ distinctly in their functioning in the dimension of psychological time. They very depending on the attitude towards their own past, present, and future, as well as according to the general level of temporal competences. The results support the suggestion of treating the psychological therapy of shy people at the acceptance of their own past, present and future the openness to the personal future.
