El linaje nobiliario de los Saavedra y su promoción artística en la Sevilla del Barroco

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza la vinculación con las artes del linaje nobiliario de los Saavedra en la Sevilla barroca. Para ello, se estudia el impulso artístico emprendido por alguno de sus miembros, especialmente por Juan de Saavedra, primer marqués del Moscoso, y su plasmación en múltiples manifestaciones, manteniendo siempre como finalidad principal ensalzar la condición social y prestigio del linaje.

This paper analyzes the connection with the arts of the nobiliary lineage of the Saavedra in the baroque Seville. For this, this paper studies the artistic impulse undertaken by some of its members, especially by Juan de Saavedra, first Marques del Moscoso, and its reflection in multiple manifestations, always maintaining the main purpose of extolling the social status and prestige of the lineage.
