Poètica de la intimitat i recepció en lectors adolescents

Abstract

Fragments (1991) by Gaspar Jaén, a book that expresses intimate feelings related with the experience of a history of homosexual love already finished, is discussed as a case study to analyse its reception among teenagers. With this purpose, a didactic sequence including poetry reading and writing, a dialogue with Jaén and a literary trip was presented to a group of A-level students. The analysis focuses on both the written production of these students and a poetry reading session of Fragments. The plurality of interpretations has been classified in different categories which highlight the potential of poetry to encourage poetry reading and detecting cultural topics. Moreover, the personal knowledge of the author and his literary geography also contributes to promoting the students’ interest in his work. Poetry is a literary genre especially adequate to represent the author’s privacy and this seems to make it more engaging for teenage readers.
