Abstract

[EN] The thesis project is to study and analyze Afro-Brazilian cults of religious diversity in Brazil. Specifically, examining the origins of multiculturalism in the religious and try to find out the reasons why the Brazilian accepted a melting pot of different religions, without any apparent conflict, and live with them daily. Because Brazil is a fertile ground for religious culture, tradition and modernity are in the same dimension by creating an environment to both religious and superstitious. These were the goals, my starting points: 1. Analyze the religious diversity in Brazil. 2. Deepening patterns of Afro-Brazilian communities, particularly in the city of Recife. 3. To study the rituals in these communities (initiation, holidays, hierarchical ...) 4. Study the influence of African culture in everyday life and religiosity in Brazil today. 5. Develop concepts such as postmodernism, tradition, New Age and African, in the context of the society of northeastern Brazil. 6. To investigate the role of women in Afro-Brazilian groups, past and present.
