
Information Literacy is nowadays a relevant and up-to-date topic, thanks to the arrival of a new age, called information age, and also the contemporary society, branded as knowledge society or information society. Researchers and teachers have the duty of improve the quality of the student's skills in information technology. The aim of this paper is to expose a preliminary theoretical background about this issue, as a result of the start of a PhD, related to the Education in the Knowledge Society PhD Programme, University of Salamanca.
