This paper deals with electromagnetic field exposure from the DVB-T transmitter in the urban environment. The quality of the antenna installation and beam direction were tested with respect to nearby places of long-term exposure. The measurements of electric field were performed at several key locations. Measurement results were compared with theoretical calculations of the present field and the obtained results analyzed. Design and installation of antenna are satisfactory with regard to human exposure to emitted EM field, which is calculated and confirmed by measurements. Results of measurements show that the E-field strengths are below the prescribed limits for the general population during long-term exposure. Besides, the examples of metal ceilings show how design of buildings can have a significant impact on reducing the level of the electric field inside of the structure.
