The issue of food safety is in the forefront of the public consciousness. Recent events of food-borne diseases, resulting in product recalls, illness, and even death, have forced this issue into the spotlight. There is a proven and safe technology that could eliminate many of these concerns; it is known as food irradiation. Food irradiation has proven to be effective and safe, with well over 25 years of scientific study. Recent studies show that the public's reluctance to use irradiated food is steadily shrinking.
