Abstract

This paper presents an active noise control (ANC) system for muffler. An ANC muffler is built to verify the performance and the experiment is conducted in real-time. Experiment results compare three narrowband ANC methods: direct, parallel and direct/parallel forms; with synthesized engine noises for fixed and changing engine speed. Active noise equalizer (ANE) is also experimented and presented in this paper to tune the engine sound.
