Abstract

1. The vertebrae are the most reliable part of the skeleton for the determination of the age ofLates niloticus. 2. A correlation between the age and size of the fish is recorded. 3. On the average, females are longer and heavier than males of equal ages. 4. The growth ofLates niloticus is not uniform throughout life, but is fast during first and third years and slow during the second and fourth years.
