AbstractIn this Letter multiple‐region FDTD (MR/FDTD) with compressed near‐field to near‐field transform is presented and compared to classical FDTD. Different MR/FDTD simulation strategies are proposed. The suitability of MR/FDTD for the simulation of surrounded antennas in an array configuration is discussed. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
