Ebru is one of the oldest Turkish arts. Colorful patterns are formed on the surface of water which has had substances added to it to increase the viscosity. The patterns are then transferred to paper. This art-form demands skill; the degree of precision and manual dexterity involved is stunning. The results of this process are unique and it is never possible to achieve the same design twice.

Ebru zalicza się do najstarszych rodzajów sztuki tureckiej. Na powierzchni wody, do której dodaje się substancji kleistych, mistrzowie ebru tworzą kolorowe wzory, przenoszone następnie na papier. Ten rodzaj sztuki wymaga szczególnych umiejętności - zdolności manualne i stopień precyzji są wręcz zadziwiające. Każde dzieło jest unikalne, powtórzenie tego samego wzoru jest niemożliwe.
