Abstract

The Emerald Network, creating in Russia, includes the territories valuable from environmental point of view, at which rare species of animals and habitats are threatened with extinction. The aim of the research was to supplement the list of amphibians and reptiles species, and identify species in need of territorial protection. The list of the Berne Convention was analyzed; the comments were made according to the modern taxonomy of amphibians and reptiles. Five more species of amphibians and reptiles that live at the Caucasus and the habitats of the rare desert and semi-desert reptile species were proposed to include to this list.
