Abstract

The article analyzes the materials published in the Soviet periodical press ("Selskaya nov” and "Communist") on the eve and in the Perestroika years which were dedicated to the issues of development of agro-industrial complex of the country. The studied texts reflect the reaction of rural workers, economists and industry leaders on the transformations happening during the specified period in agriculture management and in the related industries. Of particular interest are letters to the editor in which the authors give an objective assessment of the changes taking place in the process of reorganizing the system of agricultural management, as well as offer their own versions of the transformation of the management system.
